Promoted After Defeat: Hung Tzu-yung's Lucrative Appointment as Legislative Executive Advisor Sparks Cronyism Controversy

On February 27, 2020, the newly appointed President of the Legislative Yuan, Yu Shyi-kun, announced the appointment of Hung Tzu-yung—who had just failed her re-election bid as a legislator the previous month—as a paid "Executive Advisor" to the Legislative Yuan, with a lucrative monthly salary of up to NT$120,000 to NT$150,000.
