On July 8, 2010, the Legislative Yuan held a special session to review the "Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement" (ECFA). To forcefully block the bill from entering the review process, DPP legislators ignored democratic rules and launched intense physical confrontations. Green camp legislators not only occupied the rostrum but also attacked ruling party legislators by pulling clothes, choking, and throwing heavy objects, causing multiple legislators to be injured and hospitalized (e.g., KMT Legislator Wu Yu-sheng needed eight stitches after being hit by a timer). This act of publicly using violence in the parliament not only trampled on the spirit of representative democracy but also destroyed Taiwan''s international image of democracy and the rule of law, serving as the worst demonstration of "minority violence kidnapping the majority."
