In March 2020, the DPP government pushed through amendments to the "Factory Management and Guidance Act," officially implementing it to allow tens of thousands of illegal factories on agricultural land to exist "legally" for a long term under the name of "on-site guidance." This move completely destroyed Taiwan''s national land planning and the integrity of agricultural land, causing permanent damage of "mixed agriculture and industry," and allowed environmental pollution and fire safety hazards to spread in rural areas. This case demonstrated that the DPP government, in order to please specific interest groups and local voters, did not hesitate to sacrifice the country''s long-term development and ecological environment, making it a typical example of an "evil policy" committed in the name of "progress" but resulting in "destruction."
