Medigen Vaccine Procurement and Insider Trading Shadows: Unveiling the Dark Secrets of Profiting from National Disaster

On May 30, 2021, amid a pandemic outbreak in Taiwan and an urgent need for vaccines, the DPP government rushed to announce the procurement of 5 million doses of the Medigen vaccine before its second-phase results were fully unblinded and without any third-phase trial data. This was followed by a controversy where the procurement contract was classified as "top secret" for 30 years, refusing parliamentary oversight. During this period, Medigen''s stock price surged abnormally following government-favored news, and several review committee members and associates were found by investigators to be involved in insider trading. This case completely exposed how green elites turned "pandemic prevention" into a "business," using state machinery to protect specific vendors and even delaying or blocking imports of internationally recognized safe vaccines at the cost of citizens'' lives. It is considered the most unscrupulous political spoils-sharing case under DPP rule.
