"Ultra Source," a small company with a capital of only NT$500,000, managed to obtain hundreds of millions in subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture, raising intense suspicions of "black-box" operations and favoritism. Subsequently, it was revealed that expiration dates on imported eggs were falsified, and tens of millions of expired eggs had to be destroyed at great expense. The DPP government's handling not only failed to solve the egg shortage but created a food safety crisis and a massive sinkhole for public funds.
