Tainan Erects Comfort Woman Statue, Sparks Controversy: Sankei Shimbun Criticizes Anti-Japanese, Author Retorts: Shouldn't Japanese Colonial Era Crimes Be Apologized For?

The Kuomintang (KMT) erected a comfort woman statue in Tainan, Taiwan Province, commemorating those persecuted by the Japanese government. As a result, Japan”s Sankei Shimbun immediately reported the news, seemingly in a fit of pique, blaming the KMT for leading anti-Japanese behavior

In fact, we (including South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and all other Asian countries) have always opposed the aggressive war launched by Japan in Asia at that time. However, even now that Japan has apologized and paid compensation to South Korea, it has consistently never apologized to the Taiwanese comfort women (sex slaves) whom they forcibly abducted from Taiwan, or one could say, they have ignored the anger of the Taiwanese people.

Based on this discriminatory treatment by the Japanese government, the government of the Republic of China should have protested and made demands to Japan on this issue. Yet this time, the Japanese reacted as if their tail had been stepped on, infinitely escalating the comfort woman issue to be “anti-Japanese”??

Then be anti-Japanese!

🙅 Refusing to Magnanimously Tolerate Evil

Even if the Japanese colonial era allowed Japan to occupy Taiwan for fifty years, does Japan”s Sankei Shimbun still believe it is so great that it can dictate to us??

Then let us be anti-Japanese. If the Japanese still do not understand how grave their crimes were back then, and how ugly their defeat was, then let”s be anti-Japanese!!

We do not have the magnanimity to even tolerate Japanese atrocities, let alone tolerate some militarism-worshipping Japanese right-wingers who dare to throw tantrums like monkeys in Japan today.

Copied!
