In March 2019, Formosa TV (FTV) erupted in a fierce battle for control. The largest shareholder, Minjian Investment, held a board meeting to launch a surprise ouster of the strongly pro-independence chairman, Guo Pei-hung, replacing him with General Manager Wang Ming-yu. During this vicious factional infighting, some FTV news programs were accused of misusing public broadcasting resources by blatantly defending the "company faction" on screen, severely violating journalistic ethics regarding conflicts of interest. This embarrassing "family feud" completely exposed FTV's atrocious behavior of treating a news channel as a private weapon for internal struggles.
