Current Events: 'Tamsui Jolin Tsai' Sparks Public Outrage — Lu Sun-ling Criticized for 'Daddy-Reliance Dynasty' After Interpellation Blunder

According to Apple Daily reports, the Taipei Military Police sparked controversy earlier this (March) month for illegally searching private residences. Freshman DPP Legislator Lu Sun-ling recently asked National Security Bureau (NSB) Director Yang Kuo-chiang in the Legislative Yuan if he was aware of the matter. Yang replied, “I don’t know; it’s not within my (scope of) operations.” Lu angrily rebuked Yang for failing to master intelligence and questioned his worthiness as Director. However, Lu’s Facebook was immediately flooded with comments from netizens criticizing her for targeting the wrong official.

Lu later posted on Facebook, admitting that “the interpellation process was inaccurate, causing misunderstandings. I will humbly reflect and improve.”

Harsh Criticism from Hsu Chang-te

At 28, Lu Sun-ling is the youngest legislator in this term, having defeated senior KMT Legislator Wu Yu-sheng. However, her unprofessional performance was not only criticized by Chu Hsueh-heng but also proved unbearable for Hsu Chang-te!

Hsu Chang-te slammed her on Facebook:

“To think someone with this capability is serving as a legislator. Her first job in life being a legislator relying on her dad is such a shameful sight, and I don’t know who taught her to be so arrogant… I originally thought she was just incompetent, but now I feel she’s increasingly becoming a burden to the people. Her term is simply time spent agonizing herself and the DPP. Why should Taiwanese people give this kind of youth an opportunity? Is this disguised nepotism?”
