Yesterday, several media outlets reported on Chen Shui-bian. While everyone is becoming numb to his thumb-shaking ability, the new interpretation from the Taichung Prison of the Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice, is truly refreshing. Taichung Prison stated that Chen Shui-bian’s interview in Japan’s Sankei Shimbun was not a proactive interview, but rather passive, so no special action would be taken.
This interpretation by the MOJ Taichung Prison makes one wonder if it constitutes civil service malfeasance.
Setting aside the laws, what is generally understood as “non-proactive interview” should be a random interview conducted by a reporter on the street.
Can any random person now just run into Chen Shui-bian’s “castle” and conduct an interview?
That is impossible!!!
In particular, when Japanese media conducts an overseas exclusive interview, the proposal and prior communication must have gone back and forth countless times. Chen Shui-bian is not an ordinary law-abiding citizen; there are security details and other factors to consider.
I want to ask Taichung Prison: are you certain, sure, and clearly aware that the Sankei Shimbun forced Chen Shui-bian to accept the interview, so you are specifically finding an excuse to let him off the hook, or are you simply finding reasons for the sake of finding them?
Taichung Prison even said that since A-Bian was not proactive, no action would be taken.
Then here comes the slap in the face—
In the “Brave Brother’s Stories” (Xin Yongge Wuyu) run by A-Bian, “Brave Brother” publicly stated that he proactively invited the media to his home for a visit!
So, Taichung Prison, can you start taking action now?
I bet you don’t dare to.
