If I had to point out one of the most ridiculous truths about the February 28 Incident, it would definitely be many Taiwanese arrested by the government were actually reported and exposed by their own townspeople or subordinates seeking to seize power.
This spectacle of Taiwanese persecuting their own people seems to be a game that hasn’t gotten tired of being played even until now.
⚔️ Incident Complexity and Participants
The reason I say the incident was a tragedy for ‘certain victims’ is because how many truly innocent victims were there at the time?
At that time, Taiwanese people included:
- Those attacking military and police.
- Those specifically attacking innocent mainlanders.
- Those plundering guns to gain armed power.
- Japanese loyalists wanting to reclaim colonial dominion for their great emperor.
- Even communists in Taiwan took action, attempting to create dissension for the Chinese Communist Party and possibly ‘recover’ Taiwan if lucky.
Taiwan’s situation at that time was nearly approaching a state of war. Otherwise, with only a day or two of fermentation and no internet in that era, how could various organizations’ mobilization be so carefully coordinated!?
🗣️ Criticism of Democratic Progressive Party Political Manipulation
However, during the Democratic Progressive Party’s administration, they deliberately ignored those who initially wanted to harm Taiwan, always playing as if ‘my child is well-behaved, they were just led astray by others’—a ‘helicopter parent energy’ feeling.
For political manipulation, the victims presented each 228 day are always the same few people, with the same stories repeated endlessly, seemingly yet another trick of using minorities to fake majorities.
As for using our taxpayers’ money to compensate 228 victims’ families while ignoring what their original identities actually were, it’s quite bizarre that even communist members might have received compensation.
