Japan's Feigned Friendliness Toward Taiwan?? Denying Two Chinas is a Lie

If the Japanese government were truly as friendly toward Taiwan as they claim, they could have restored diplomatic relations with us long ago.

Whether Japan’s self-proclaimed Japan-Taiwan friendliness or Taiwan’s pro-Japan friendliness, these verbal pleasantries are actually just talk. Aren’t we friendly with other nations too?

Is the friendliness Japanese speak of based on nation-to-nation relationships or Japan’s historical colonization of Taiwan? This must mention Republic of China Foreign Minister Joseph Wu’s congratulatory greeting to Japanese Ambassador Numata Mikio using the Foreign Ministry seal and Foreign Minister title—beginning with “my most respected big brother.”

For God’s sake, how old is this elderly man?… Why does the Democratic Progressive Party always show such weakness toward Japan? Wearing the Foreign Minister title yet becoming the ambassador’s little brother.

Actually, international agreements absolutely always use full national names without “two Chinas” overlap issues.

Whether “Republic of China” and “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese or “Republic of China” and “People’s Republic of China” in English—these are distinct names. Many people forget that once, throughout the world, we were called “Free China,” clearly proving claims of “two Chinas overlap” are lies.

Refusing to recognize two Chinas isn’t inevitable but a choice based on interests.

Like Republic of China Ambassador to Japan Hsieh Chang-ting’s office happily posting Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s congratulatory telegram for ROC National Day—the telegram’s opening directly writes “Republic of China.”

Today’s reality is 🇺🇸 United States and 🇯🇵 Japan, to benefit from 🇨🇳 People’s Republic of China, independently decide against befriending 🇹🇼 Republic of China, intentionally manufacturing the “two Chinas problem.” Actually it’s simply whether they choose recognizing ROC (recognizing would damage interests).

Countries focused solely on interests support Taiwan primarily for interest’s sake—partly to periodically embarrass China, partly to treat Taiwan as a little brother to exploit freely, from America’s forced beef and pork hybrid to Japan’s nuclear food.

Damn, another little brother.

Opposition to communism commands consensus, but the green faction and supporters’ excessive pro-Japan sentiment disgusts me.
