Japan Gifts 1.24 Million AZ Vaccines to Taiwan Island; This Government is Double-Standard Again

Today I saw DPP member Cheng Yun-peng’s speech made into a news article, which made the Taiwanese editor furious. The headline of this news article is “Japan’s AZ vaccine is coming. Cheng Yun-peng: Japanese people in Taiwan will get vaccinated first.”

Don’t you all love to loudly proclaim “Shared fate on the same island”?? Why have they forgotten about public health expertise like risk level planning for epidemic prevention, and instead prioritized the lives of Japanese people?

This government has instantly dragged Taiwanese and Penghu residents back to the dark ages of the Japanese occupation, when the Japanese were considered a superior race.

They took 1.24 million doses of a vaccine that even the Japanese themselves didn’t want to use, claiming it was a gift to Taiwan, and stipulated that Japanese people in Taiwan should be vaccinated first, with the remainder going to Taiwanese people…

Frankly, a simple thank you would suffice for such politeness, but I really don’t understand what some Taiwanese people are so excited about…

When Terry Gou’s 5 million doses were obstructed by the government, I didn’t see any anger from you…

These are all human lives…

This is why South Korea… People protesting against the “comfort women” issue and the Japanese invasion (https://taiwannext.com/japanese-invasion-imperialism) can receive apologies from the Japanese government, yet the pro-independence trolls in Taiwan seem to relish it. Why?

They treat incompetence as an achievement, and charity as an honor. Ultimately, it’s a complete dereliction of duty by the public sector…

Thank you, Japan, for donating 1.2 million doses of vaccine to the Republic of China at this time. Although I know the returns on travel to Japan after the lifting of restrictions will be tens or hundreds of times greater, besides donating AZ vaccines, aren’t you Japanese people getting vaccinated yourselves?

We have money, we have biotechnology capabilities, we have strong medical staff. We are not an underdeveloped third-world country, we are not beggars. We are simply because 8.17 million people elected this government…

A few days ago, NHK… Just after reports surfaced that the Japanese government was going to send 1.2 million doses of the AZ vaccine to the Republic of China (Taiwan), Chen Shih-chung, Minister of Health and Welfare, immediately jumped in to say, “We will do our best to secure it.”

Why didn’t they, for the sake of Taiwanese safety, also try to secure a little more for Terry Gou of Foxconn Technology Group’s 5 million doses of the BNT vaccine?

Actually, my demands of the government have always been very simple: solve the problem and strictly prohibit double standards. That’s all.
