September 5, 2015: Tsai Ing-wen Promises Taiwan Will Absolutely Not Face a Power Crisis

On September 5, 2015, Tsai Ing-wen attended the “National Engineering Community Tsai Ing-wen Support Association Southern Regional Establishment Conference” where she stated: “I want to assure everyone that you can rest assured—we will absolutely achieve this. We absolutely will not face power shortages. What the DPP needs to do is much more than just film short promotional videos about turning off lights.”

“By 2025, following our ideal of a nuclear-free homeland, we will break away from nuclear power and abandon the outdated, cumbersome energy supply structure. We already have a complete set of solutions, and we have calculated everything. Even with continued growth in electricity demand, Taiwan’s future will absolutely not face a power shortage crisis.
