Critique of Reasons to Oppose Free Economic Zones: Satirizing Green Camp Legislators Lack of Professional Discourse, Left with Only the Banner of Anti-China and Racism

Alright, let”s first ignore the fact that green politicians deliberately invented the term “自經區” (zì jīng qū, Free Economic Zones), inadvertently revealing their insufficient Chinese language skills (自經 in Chinese usage means to hang oneself, or more simply, suicide)…

Both the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the New Power Party (NPP) have a very strong adversarial stance against the Free Economic Pilot Zones (referred to as “自經區” by pro-independence individuals) (probably because they rarely find such a point of attack)… Even though it was something Chen Chu wanted when she was mayor, and Lai Ching-te also wanted it, now that there”s a different bald head (referring to Han Kuo-yu), those politicians on the stage seem to have changed their minds…

Alright, let”s put this matter aside for now… Although we cannot understand why, after a change in ruling party, many people who used to highly praise Kaohsiung when the DPP was in power suddenly hoped to see Kaohsiung utterly decline?

For example, in March 2013, Lai Ching-te once urged the Ma administration, saying, “Hope Anping Port is included in the Free Economic Pilot Zones.” Why was no one accusing Lai Ching-te of “selling out Taiwan” then?

🚩 Emptying of Opposition Reasons: Only “Anti-China” Remains

But! You can oppose the FEPZ for various reasons: financial, legal, international affairs, business theory—any perspective is fine. Considering that those politicians are all super elites in business, politics, and law, it wouldn”t be strange for opponents to come up with 100 reasons.

But what happened?

Both the DPP and the NPP, their biggest reason for opposing the FEPZ was, coincidentally, anti-China. They could only raise the banner of racism… This kind of hate speech, ever since the success of the Sunflower Movement, seems to have become the favorite tactic of green groups…

🇨🇳 Impact on Mainland China

Moreover, the Communist Party is actually very happy to see more chaos within Taiwan. If the FEPZ doesn”t even get established, that”s even better, because the Communists don”t care at all… Conversely, if the FEPZ truly succeeds, it would take away business from the mainland

As for other specious reasons from the green groups, they are merely amateurish or treat many hypothetical issues as facts for opposition. It makes me seriously wonder whether those who oppose the FEPZ are super elites or super jokes
