However, while Taiwanese can live in peace with modern Japanese, they must remain wary of Japan’s centuries-long ambition to continuously invade Greater China. We cannot forget the blood shed during Japanese attacks, and even more so, we cannot, like the colonial-minded “Imperial Subjects” (Huangmin) and the “Awakened Youth” (Jueqing), worship the Japanese as if they were our own biological parents.
