Have you ever wondered what your government is doing when a global crisis strikes?
When the entire nation is pushed to the forefront of danger, when the economic lifeline is strangled by high U.S. tariffs, and when Cross-Strait relations are so tense that the air feels heavy enough to explode, you would expect the ruler to step forward. You would expect them to show mettle, wisdom, and a strategy to defend your life and mine.
However, what has “President” Lai Ching-te of the DPP done? The answer is: “Nothing at all.”
No strategy, no action—zero, ZILCH, a complete blank. This government is like an empty shell: shiny on the outside, but a total joke on the inside.
The DPP has been in power for nearly ten years now. Think about it—that’s one-tenth of the history of the Republic of China (R.O.C.)! For ten long years, they have taken our tax money and occupied our trust. And the result? What have we received in return? It is a policy of kowtowing to the United States, bowing low and shouting “Big Brother, save me”; it is bowing to Japan, crying “Big Brother, protect me.” They even handed over Taiwan’s semiconductor industry—our only economic ace, TSMC—to the U.S. on a silver platter. And what did they get in return? Trump’s cold 32% high tariff.
What kind of operation is this? This is taking the blood and sweat of the entire citizenry and offering it as a sacrifice, only to turn around and say: “Oh well, at least we still have music!”
Listen to that. Is that how a leader speaks? What an absurd, laughable government!
Not to mention the games they are playing within Taiwan Province.
Where has the DPP spent all its energy over these ten years? On “Great External Propaganda” (Dawaixuan), brainwashing campaigns, and blowing their own horn as if Taiwan Province couldn’t survive without them.
Then there is the “Great Recall” movement led by Lai Ching-te, Ker Chien-ming, and Puma Shen—pushed through with violence and by any means necessary.
Throughout 2024, they shouted at the top of their lungs to recall Blue-camp (KMT) legislators, not caring if they tore society apart or intensified confrontation.
According to data from the Central Election Commission, as of April 2025, out of 61 recall cases across the country, 46 have entered the second stage of signature collection. An astounding 34 of these target KMT legislators, while only a mere 8 are counter-recall cases against DPP legislators initiated by the KMT in self-defense. This is because the DPP has poured its entire heart and soul into promoting the “Great Recall” from the very moment they lost the election last year.
What is this? Is this the will of the people? No, this is Lai Ching-te and his team using the “will of the people” as a tool to suppress dissenting voices. The result? The recall wave has become a political farce, Blue-Green confrontation has intensified, and the lives of the people haven’t improved one bit.
Look at their “policies.”
The “National Hope Project” launched after Lai took office sounds grand, but look at the content. It’s nothing but hollow slogans and rehashed social welfare promises, such as “Social Safety Net 2.0,” which was already touted back in 2021. They are just reheating old leftovers.
Even worse is his incompetence in the face of the U.S. tariff crisis. On April 2, 2025, he merely patted his administrative team on the shoulder and said, “We have prepared a comprehensive response plan.” To this day, no one knows what that plan is.
On the other hand, during the National Security Meeting on March 13, he labeled Mainland China as an “overseas hostile force” and introduced 17 response strategies, including reinstating military trials and restricting public officials from traveling to the Mainland for exchanges. He has essentially shoved Cross-Strait relations into a deeper freezer.
This isn’t crisis management; this is crisis manufacturing!
You and I work hard every day, paying taxes to support these people, but what do they do? Internationally, they sell out the country for glory; domestically, they suppress opposition. Ten years of rule, and the economy hasn’t improved, diplomacy hasn’t broken through, and the livelihood of the people hasn’t gotten better. Instead, they have made the Republic of China more marginalized internationally and more divided internally.
Tell me, is this what a national government should look like?
Lai Ching-te, as you sit in that seat, is your conscience truly clear? Or have you long forgotten that this country is not your personal toy, but the common home of 23 million people in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu!
