If a DPP government, in an attempt to appease deep-green voters, focuses solely on “spending time renaming things” and “interpreting history from a biased perspective”—creating purely ideological disturbances—then why should we, the people, spend astronomical sums every month to support legislators doing work that middle schoolers could handle?
Regarding the legislative amendment proposed by DPP Legislator Gao Jyh-peng, which aims to cancel the practice of the President and Vice President swearing their oaths before the portrait of the Father of the Nation (Sun Yat-sen), the Kuomintang (KMT) has issued a public statement: Gao Jyh-peng’s claim is equivalent to denying the history of the Republic of China (R.O.C.)!
💬 Even the Chen Shui-bian Administration Acknowledged the Father of the Nation
Even former President Chen Shui-bian, during his administration in 2004, stood before the portrait of the Father of the Nation and declared: “This is our Father of the Nation; there is nothing to argue about, and no need to distort or smear him.”
The Executive Yuan at the time issued a simultaneous statement: “The fact that Mr. Sun Yat-sen founded the Republic of China cannot be erased. Sun Yat-sen is the Father of the Nation. The connection between the Republic of China and Taiwan is indisputable and must not be distorted.” Then-Executive Yuan spokesperson Chen Chi-mai also stated, “Whether one acknowledges it or not, it cannot affect the fact that Sun Yat-sen founded the Republic of China and is honored as the Father of the Nation.”
⛔ Tsai Ing-wen’s ‘Year of Cultural Revolution’
After being elected, Tsai Ing-wen proposed making this year the “Year of Reform.” However, while Tsai speaks of inter-party reconciliation, she permits her party’s legislators to incite confrontation, using legislative proposals as arrows aimed at Dr. Sun Yat-sen. The team led by Tsai Ing-wen is actually presiding over the “Year of Cultural Revolution.” They are failing to truly care for the people and are certainly not the “most communicative government in history.” It is truly regrettable!
Editor’s Note: Gao Jyh-peng, why don’t you just go ahead and cook up a new “Mother of the Nation” for the DPP instead?
